Manuel Quezon

Important Filipino politician (1878–1944) who served as the nation’s second president from 1935 to 1944; he was posthumously awarded the Raoul Wallenberg Medal for facilitating the relocation of Jewish refugees to the Philippines during World War II. Deluxe official softcover presentation booklet entitled “Inaugural Address of His Excellency Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines,” produced in 1935 by the Bureau of Printing in Manila, 26 pages, 7.5 x 10.5, signed and inscribed on the frontispiece in fountain pen, “To Senator Warren R. Austin, with my best wishes, Manuel Quezon, Nov. 15, 1935.” Also gilt-stamped on the front cover with Austin’s name. In fine condition. Warren Austin represented Vermont in the Senate for fifteen years before becoming the first official US ambassador to the United Nations. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
