Hoover,” one page, 8 x 10.5, FBI letterhead, July 2, 1945, in part: “Since the FBI has no position designated as ‘Detective’ I would suggest that you communicate with local authorities in Indiana relative to your desire to secure a position as a law enforcement official”; and a matte-finish 7.25 x 9.25 portrait of an artist’s rendering of Hoover, signed and inscribed in fountain pen, “To Jess Porter, Best wishes, J. Edgar Hoover, 9/17/40.” In overall fine condition, with trimmed edges to the photo. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
