Thomas Lipton

Merchant and yachtsman (1848–1931) who created the Lipton tea brand and was the most persistent challenger in the history of the America's Cup. Three items signed by Lipton, including: a fountain pen signature on a thin off-white card bearing a hand-painted shamrock; a 1924 TLS mentioning that his steam yacht ‘Erin’ was sunk by an enemy submarine during WWI; and a 1927 TLS expressing gratitude. In overall fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
