Signer of the US Constitution from New Jersey (1723–1790) who also served as governor of that state. Partly-printed DS, signed “Wil: Livingston,” one page, 12.25 x 16.5, September 29, 1781. As governor of New Jersey, Livingston appoints Samuel Ogden “to be one of the Justices of the Peace in and for the County of Cumberland.” Signed at the conclusion by Livingston. The paper seal affixed to the upper left remains intact. Repaired to very good condition, with complete separations to intersecting folds repaired with tape on the reverse, a strip of paper loss to the upper left, toning to folds and edges, and light foxing.
