Schlotfeldt, in full: “I beg to thank you for your kind letter of the 17th of January and to say that I am still with you, and expect to be indefinitely. It is, as you say, however, very gratifying to feel that the people of the Islands desire my retention and that, to that extent at least, I have won their confidence.” In fine condition, with erased pencil notations to upper left corner.
