Chinese scholar of history and political science (1888–1979) who invented Shih Chiao Hao Ma, a method of Chinese lexicography; also served as vice premier of the Republic of China from 1958 to 1963. Pleasant satin-finish 3 x 4.5 photo of an elderly Wang, signed in black ink on the front in Chinese, and English, “Wang Yun-wu.” Photo is also signed and inscribed on the reverse, “For Mrs. Esther Farris Collection, Wing Yun-wu, Dec 13, 1961,”; Wang adds his Chinese signature once more. In fine condition, with minor crease to upper right and a slight impression to left edge, leaving both sets of bold signatures unaffected. Pre-certified PSA/DNA.
