Original ink, pencil, and watercolor full-length sketch of Julie Andrews’s character for the 1970 film Darling Lili on an off-white 14.5 x 19.5 sheet. Sketch shows the character in a full-length blue gown, with a lovely blue and white print jacket, with fur collar, cuffs, and hem. Pencil notation at the bottom reads, “’Darling Lily’ (Julie Andrews—Donald Brooks, G29-45-125-43,” and signed in brown felt tip, “Brooks.” Attractively double-matted and framed to an overall size of 20.75 x 26. In fine condition. Brooks would go on to garner an Academy Award nomination for his work in the film, with this particular sketch an obvious example why. Provenance: The John Strangi Collection.
