Two original ‘brown-line’ production sketches of scenes from Ben Hur, both 30 x 21. First bears a printed scene of soldiers, many on horseback, riding into a city square, with buildings in the background, numbered “4,” in the lower right. A pencil notation to the right border reads, “Stop pan up of camera on set here—We will complete pan up here optically,” with a horizontal line drawn into the upper portion of the scene; second shows an overhead view of a small village on a riverbank, numbered in pencil, “0809-01,” with the artist’s name printed in the scene, “Dukalski.” Scattered light creases, edge dings, and punch holes along left edge of one sketch, otherwise fine condition.
