Description

Michael H. Barckley

Union officer (1840–1864) who served with the 113th New York Volunteers. He was wounded at Cold Harbor on June 5, 1865, and died the next day during amputation of his leg. Barckley’s hardcover Union College 1862 yearbook, 9.25 x 11, with Barckley’s name embossed on the front cover. Inside contains photos of the class, with the first page bearing a 4.75 x 6 oval portrait of Barckley, signed at the bottom of the page, “M. H. Barckley, Knox, N. O.” Yearbook is also signed by 58 others on their respective pages, including its president, Eliphalet Nott, Laurens P. Hickok, Charles Frederick Chandler, and William Ripley Brown. In very good condition, with scattered toning and foxing to pages and mild wear to covers. RR Auction COA.
