Description

“You sent to my home two different kinds of salve (creme)...I would not be without them…But I think the last kind makes the Embouchure just a wee bit stronger”

TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Satchmo letterhead, October 1, 1948. Letter to Frantz Schuritz. In part: “I’ve received the Ansatz-Creme…you sent to my home two different kinds of salve (creme) and I like the last kind better. Of course they are all very good and I would not be without them…But I think the last kind makes, the Embouchure just a wee bit stronger…Then too—it could just be my imagination…You may send to me a batch of your anzatz-creme anytime you want to…And what ever the charges are I will gladly pay you…I use quite a bit of your salve…I play in the upper register all the time…Most of the time anyway…So anythime [sic] you see fit (meaning) anythime [sic] you have a package of anzatz-creme ready—just send it on to me” Intersecting folds, some light scattered soiling, and two punch holes and a ding to the left side, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RR Auction COA.
