Two Plains Mercantile Company checks, 8.25 x 3, both from the early 1960s, one signed “J. E. Carter, Jr.,” and one signed “Rosalynn S. Carter.” Archivally double cloth matted with a color likeness of the Carters and framed to an overall size of 16.25 x 26.25. Expected cancellations stamps and a Carter’s Warehouse stamp touching both signatures, otherwise fine condition. At the time, Carter was a wealthy peanut farmer on the verge of entering politics as a state senatorial candidate. Oversized. RRAuction COA.
