Endorsed business check, 8.5 x 3.5, drawn on the account of William Morris Agency, payable to Gerald Ford for $20.68, March 16, 1967, and endorsed by Ford on the back with the notation, “Endorsed for deposit only to Sgt. of Arms acct. Gerald R. Ford.” Elaborately and archivally double cloth matted with a color likeness and framed to an overall size of 18 x 25. The document is displayed within a cloth matted shadowbox with a hinged topped affixed to the first frame, allowing for viewing of both sides of the check. In fine condition, with expected cancellation stamps on the reverse, just touching the signature. Ford was a Michigan congressman and House Minority Leader in 1967. In his post-presidency, he would sign with the William Morris Agency, which helped employ him as a political commentator on network television. Scarce in any form, a front-signed Ford check sold in 1991 for $3,000. Oversized. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
