Description

Unique Apollo 11 insurance cover converted to an FDC and signed by the first man on the moon

Unique Apollo 11 NASA Manned Spacecraft Stamp Club insurance cover with a color cachet honoring the first lunar landing, postmarked “Moon Landing, July 20, 1969,” and “Washington, D. C., September 9, 1969,” and also stamped “First Day of Issue.” Signed in blue ballpoint “Neil Armstrong.” In very fine condition. This particular cover was an example that was not signed by the crew during their pre-flight quarantine, but rather converted two months later into a first day cover for the First Man on the Moon stamp. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
