Physicians Charles H. Mayo (1865–1939) and William J. Mayo (1861–1939) worked together in the family’s medical practice, which eventually evolved into the famed Mayo Clinic in Rochester. Two vintage 11 x 14 Clarence Stearns studio portraits: one of Charles Mayo, signed in the lower border in black ink; and one of William Mayo, signed and inscribed in the lower border, “William J. Mayo, to Joe Marshmaller with sincere esteem.” Both photos are housed in their original presentation folders. In fine condition, with a bit of trivial foxing to borders of both photos.
