Otto Hahn

German chemist (1879–1968) who won the 1944 Nobel Prize for the discovery of nuclear fission. ALS in German, signed “D. Otto,” both sides of a 4.25 x 6 postcard, no date, but postmarked August 2, 1936. Letter to his wife Edith. In part: “After yesterday's record-breaking rain - it was pouring continuously for about 20 hours- it better today…and about the food in Garmisch…Here I have eaten just beautiful liver and fried potatoes and sour to 1 liters.” In fine condition.
