Hancock fills out a bill of lading for the Charming Molly

Partly printed unsigned DS filled out in Hancock’s hand (and including his surname “Hancock”), one page, 9.25 x 4.5, June 9, 1762. A bill of lading. In part: “Shipped by the Grace of God, in good Order and well Condition’d, by Thomas Hancock by order of Sir Jeffrey Amherst in and upon the good Ship called the Charming Molly whereof is Master, under God, for this present Voyage, Edward Grove and now riding at Anchor in the Harbour of Boston and by God’s Grace bound for Halifax Nova Scotia to say, Thirty Thousand of Bricks, Ten Thousand feet of Boards, Twenty Three Hogsheads of Corn, Five Hogsheads of Bran, One Hogshead of Sand, Two Carts Compleat, One pair Trucks Compleat, One Boat, Sails & Oars Compleat, Thirty Three bundles of Hay & Two Horses.” Light toning and soiling, heavier to right side, and creasing and chipping to left edge, otherwise fine condition.
