Partly-printed DS, signed “R. B. Hayes,” one page, 13.75 x 17, April 11, 1867. Hayes, as governor of Ohio, appoints Patterson Harrison a Justice of the Peace for Hamilton Township. Signed at the conclusion in black ink by Hayes, and countersigned by his secretary of state. In very good condition, with intersecting storage folds, scattered toning and foxing, rippling to top edge, and a trivial pinhole at one fold intersection.
