Description

1964 Masters signatures, including Palmer, Nicklaus, Nelson, and Player

Interesting vintage hardcover scrapbook of the 1964 Masters tournament assembled by a collector, full of newspaper articles and photos from the event, as well as maps, passes, and a Masters booklet. Of particular interest is an entry pass, 8 x 5, signed in pencil by Jack Nicklaus, Bob Goalby, Gary Player, Phil Rodgers, and one other. Opposite the pass is a pairings sheet for the Friday round at the tournament, signed in ballpoint and pencil by 21 participants, including: Nicklaus, Goalby, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Byron Nelson, Gay Brewer, Billy Casper, Jerry Barber, Cary Middlecoff, Byron Nelson, and Bruce Devlin. Both signed items, along with all other materials are affixed to 10.5 x 12.5 off-white scrapbook pages. In very good condition, with toning, creasing and handling wear to signed items. Palmer won by scoring three rounds in the 60s and a final round of 70 to win by six strokes. With this win, he became the first four-time winner of the Masters. This was also his 7th and final major victory. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
