Great vintage glossy 7.25 x 9 photo of Eisenhower greeting a line of Brooklyn Dodgers players, in particular Ransom Jackson, signed in fountain pen, as president, “Dwight D. Eisenhower.” On the reverse of the photo, written in Jackson’s hand, “I received this picture from Pres. Eisenhower at the White House. Ransom Jackson.” Double matted and framed so both sides are visible, to an overall size of 13.75 x 15.5. Photo was most likely taken either before or after the opening game of the 1956 World Series between the Dodgers and crosstown rival New York Yankees. Eisenhower threw out the first pitch of Game 1. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from James Spence. Some scattered light creases and surface marks, mainly visible only at an angle, otherwise fine condition. A very nice association between two American staples, with direct provenance from one of the Dodgers present. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
