Wheeler, 6.5 x 3.5, one page, both sides, dated December 23, 1842, endorsed on the reverse, “Pay the within to R. T. Wheeler, J. Pickney Smith,” also endorsed by William Henry Dangerfield as Secretary of the Treasury, and also signed by Wheeler. Matted and framed with several printed biographies, so that both sides are visible, to an overall size of 17.25 x 11. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, scattered light toning and soiling, a few pencil notations, and an irregular top edge. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
