Manhattan Project initiator

Hungarian physicist (1898-1964) who conceived the nuclear chain reaction and worked on the Manhattan Project. Rare TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, University of Chicago letterhead, November 15, 1948. Brief letter which originally accompanied some forwarded manuscripts. In full: “Enclosed are two copies of the manuscript which we discussed. If you could send one of them to Dean Acheson for ‘fun’s sake’ with luck it might perhaps do some good.” Szilard has made a small ink correction to first line of text. In fine condition, with a few light creases. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
