Vintage 10 x 12 photo, signed and inscribed in fountain pen in the lower border of the original mount, “To Paul D. Payne, Thos. A. Edison.” In good condition, with holes to both vertical borders of mount, heavy horizontal crease through facial area of image with partial separations to borders, light silvering and surface marks to image, small area of edge loss along top left, and toning and foxing to borders. Edison’s inscription and signature remain quite bold and distinct, with his “umbrella” measuring 2.5 inches, and largely unaffected by the photo’s flaws.
