Ernest J. King

In 1941 he became commander-in-chief of the U.S. Fleet; he also became the chief of naval operations in 1942. He commanded the U.S. Navy throughout World War II and served as President Roosevelt’s chief naval advisor. He became a five-star admiral in 1944. Fountain pen signature, “Ernest J. King, Admiral U.S. Navy, Commander in Chief, United States Fleet, 1942,” on an off-white card. Double matted with a color portrait, to an overall size of 12 x 18. In fine condition, with a small spot of toning, lightly affecting the last name. RRAuction COA.
