Ingres writes to an unnamed friend, presenting a book that is “better for your library than for mine.” According to an early collector’s notation at the foot, the original recipient was the esteemed French architect Louis-Hippolyte Lebas (1782–1867). Letter affixed to same-sized sheet (a touch of mild wrinkling and rippling), and light mailing fold to first letter of signature, otherwise fine, bright condition. RRAuction COA.
