Signing a 1950 retrospective catalog

Acclaimed American artist (1882–1967) whose most famous work, Nighthawks, depicting patrons in a light-bathed diner at night, takes a place among the most familiar images in American art. Catalog from a traveling exhibition of Hopper’s works which originated at the Whitney Museum of American Art in 1950, softcover, 8.75 x 7, 60 pages, signed and inscribed in ballpoint on a front blank “To Mr. and Mrs. Parker, Edward Hopper.” Housed in a handsome custom quarter-leather clamshell box. Light soiling and toning to covers, and a few small spots of skinning to back cover, otherwise fine condition. RRAuction COA.
