Description

Make way for the ‘Big Train’

Johnson (1887–1946), whose famous deadly fastball earned him the nickname “Big Train,” was one of the first five original Hall of Fame inductees in 1936. In 1999, the Sporting News named him the fourth greatest player—the highest-ranked pitcher—of all time. Uncommon vintage fountain pen signature, “Walter Johnson,” on an off-white 3.75 x 1.5 slip. In fine condition. JSA/Mike Gutierrez Auction LOA and RRAuction COA.
