Description

Baseball executive who served as the founder and first president of the American League. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 as one of its charter members. TLS signed “B. B. Johnson,” one page, 8.5 x 11, American League letterhead, September 23, 1915. Letter to Yankee secretary T. L. Huston. In part, “I have your telegram relating to your closing date with the Boston club. Your proposition to move forward the game of the 7th and play it as a double-header…is a good suggestion. I have written Mr. Lannin today in regard to the matter.” Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from James Spence. In fine condition, with a mild shade of toning, and intersecting mailing folds, one through a single letter of signature. Auction LOA Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and R&R COA.
