Russian novelist and moral philosopher (1828–1910) best known for his epic novels War and Peace and Anna Karenina. Large, bold ink signature, “Leo Tolstoy, 20 March 1903,” on a 3.75 x 5.25 sheet. Tolstoy’s works for that year include the stories “Esarhaddon, King of Assyria” and “Work, Death, and Sickness.” A touch of mild scattered soiling, and light handling wear with a few creases and small wrinkles (not affecting signature), otherwise fine condition.
