Signing a 1480 royal appointment

King of Spain (1452–1516) and various other principalities from 1479 until his death. Ferdinand and his wife, Isabella (1451–1504), are best known as the principal patrons and supporters of Christopher Columbus’s voyages to the New World. Manuscript DS, signed “Yo el Rey” [I the King] and “Yo la Reyna” [I the Queen], one page, 8.5 x 9, December 28, 1480[?]. A document appointing Rodrigo de Verdesoto as Procurador of the Royal Court [essentially, a legal counsel] and summoning him to take his oath of office. Intersecting folds (lightly touching signatures), small edge chips and tears, three binding holes to left edge, and light scattered toning, otherwise very good, bright condition.
