President Polk appoints Victor de la Cova to the position of “Consul General of the Republic of Venezuela for the United States.” Signed at the conclusion by Polk and countersigned by Secretary of State Buchanan. Double matted and framed with portraits of Polk and Buchanan, to an overall size of 35 x 20. Previous storage folds, Polk’s signature just a shade or two light, scattered light creasing, and a vertical fold through a single letter of Buchanan’s signature, otherwise fine condition.
