Vintage 9.5 x 7.5 photo of Sandburg being hugged and kissed by his two daughters, signed and inscribed in black ink “For Marius B. Risley, with all good wishes, Carl Sandburg 1938.” Collector’s notation on the reverse reads, in part, “Mr. Sandburg told me in person…that this photo was taken about 1924 & that the girls are his daughters.” In very good condition, with several creases to horizontal edges, lightly trimmed edges, and scattered silvering to darker areas of image and background.
