Lunar module pilot (born 1933) for the Apollo 8 mission, the first lunar orbit mission, in December 1968. His photo “Earthrise” became one of the most recognizable images taken during the Apollo program. Color NASA photo, the famous “Earthrise” image taken by Anders, trimmed in size to 10 x 7.75, signed and inscribed in gray-green felt tip, “To the Longs, Best wishes, Bill Anders.” In very good condition overall, with trimming as noted, ink a shade light but fully legible, a few small creases and light surface marks, mounting traces with slight skinning and thinning to reverse, and professional cleaning to image.
