Signed book: Apollo: Expeditions to the Moon. First edition, first printing. Washington, D.C.: NASA, 1975. Pictorial hardcover, 9 x 12, 313 pages. Signed and inscribed in black felt tip on a prefatory page bearing the text of plaque left on the moon during the Apollo 11 mission, “Best wishes to Helen, Neil Armstrong, Apollo 11,” “Buzz Aldrin,” and “Michael Collins.” Included with the book, which is illustrated with photos throughout, is a signed letter of provenance from the nephew of the original owner, who explains that his aunt, Helen Colosimo, was formerly employed by United Airlines as a Congressional Reservations Agent, and that she obtained Armstrong’s signature in that capacity shortly after the book’s publication. Accompanied by a Novaspace receipt and certificate of authenticity for Collins’s signature, as well as the book’s original cardboard mailer; according to the consignor, Aldrin’s signature was obtained in person at a UACC show. The very subtlest hint of rubbing to covers and toning to interior, otherwise very fine, spotless condition. A splendid presentation of this most desirable trio in a particularly well-preserved and attractive state! COA Scott Cornish and R&R COA.
