Eleanor keeps her schedule clear, “as it complicates my husband’s plans and makes it more difficult for him to carry out the day’s program.”

TLS, one page, 5.5 x 7.5, Executive Mansion, Albany letterhead, August 15, 1930. Letter declining an invitation. In part, “It is very kind of you to write me and suggest that I rest at your house, but I am with my husband for the entire day and I make it a point on these trips, not to make any engagements of my own on the side, to speak or to meet any groups of people, as it complicates my husband’s plans and makes it more difficult for him to carry out the day’s program.” In fine condition, with two notations to left edge, a couple trivial spots and a light shade, of toning.
