Union general (1831–1888) whose cavalry command blocked Lee’s escape at Appomattox. Carte-de-visite photo, 2.25 x 4, signed in ink on the mount “Phil. H. Sheridan.” In very good condition, with scattered light soiling, a few tiny spots to image, and slightly cramped signature written atop printed ruled border.
