Description

Signer of the U.S. Constitution from Delaware (1732–1808) who also served as an officer during the Revolutionary War, Governor of Delaware, and Governor of Pennsylvania. DS, one page on vellum, 26.25 x 6.75, 1783. A grant for a parcel of land called “Witney” in Northampton County, Delaware, issued to Isaac Wikoff. The embossed paper seal remains intact at lower right. Matted and framed with a portrait and engraved plaque to an overall size of 34 x 20.75. In good condition, with intersecting folds (small holes along horizontal fold, touching a few words of text), light scattered soiling, wrinkling to “rays” of seal, and signature on the light side but fully legible. R&R COA. Oversized.
