In full: “I do not find the Joyeuse Rentrée in our University Library, nor on the catalogue of the Public Library in Boston, nor do I know of any one in this neighborhood who owns it. President White of the Cornell University had a very valuable historical collection & perhaps may have the volume you are seeking. He is generous of his books.
