A manuscript legal document involving the case of Jacob Grubb “who was summoned to answer Jacob Shearman in a plea that he render him two thousand pounds lawful money … and whereupon Jacob Shearman by George Ross his attorney with that whereas the s’d Jacob Grubb the twenty ninth day of November in the year of our lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty eight in Lancaster … In consideration of the sum therein after hath granted bargained and sold unto the afores’d Jacob Grubb and to his heirs & assigns part of a tract of land situate in Manheim Township county of York and Province aforesaid containing three hundred acres (more or less) adjoining on the East side Widow Wampler and on the North Side Leonard Sable on the West Widow Barling….” In very good condition, with folds, toning, light edge wear with a few small restored losses, complete horizontal separations with a few tiny losses (repaired), and second page inlaid into a slightly larger sheet.
