In part, “Thanks for the Map—I wanted it to illustrate a letter I had prepared for the new Secretary of War [Robert Lincoln]. I will advise him to have it properly backed & mounted…. I already have one hung up in my private office.” In very good condition, with a block of moderate toning, two horizontal mailing folds and some tape reinforcement to folds on reverse. R&R COA.
