Previously unaware of its existence, Mrs. Hoover grateful for Christmas Under Three Flags: “We had no copy of it, nor indeed had I known of it before, so I am more than glad to have this prized volume in our library.”

ALS, three pages on two adjoining sheets, 4.5 x 7, The White House, Washington, with gold-embossed eagle at top center letterhead, April 23, 1931. A letter to Miss Cushing. In part: “Thank you for sending me the delightful book Christmas Under Three Flags. We had no copy of it, nor indeed had I known of it before, so I am more than glad to have this prized volume in our library.” Accompanied by the original White House mailing envelope, in Mrs. Hoover’s hand. In fine condition, with bisecting fold through a letter of the signature. R&R COA.
