Diminutive second baseman for the Chicago Cubs who was the cornerstone in the legendary Tinker-Evers-Chance double-play combination. Scarce ANS signed “J. E.,” written at the bottom of a letter from a fan, one lined page, 8.5 x 11, [October] 1945. Evers responds to a fan’s request for his own autograph on some enclosed photos (not present) and for the addresses of several other players by adding brief comments next to six names the fan has written, including “Don’t know,” “West Coast don’t know add.,” and, next to Harry Steinfelt, “dead.” At the bottom of the page he writes: “The address of above Players can be had from Sporting News.” In fine condition, with mild even toning and usual mailing folds.
