Saxophonist and singer, Jordan was the most popular “race” recording artist throughout the 1940s. The Broadway show, Five Guys Named Moe, was devoted to Jordan's music. Terrific vintage glossy 8 x 10 promotional portrait of the young Jordan for Louis Jordan and His Tympany Five, signed and inscribed in purple ink “To Charlie, Best Wishes! Louis Jordan.” In fine condition, with a few faint surface impressions, bit of brushing to a letter of the signature, faint toning to bottom edge. R&R COA.
