Guevera was a Marxist guerilla insurgent who aided Castro’s Cuban revolution and rallied other Third World countries to overthrow their corrupt regimes. Captured during a 1967 guerilla campaign in Bolivia, he was summarily executed the following day, instantly transformed to a martyr and inspiration for other reactionaries. Castro was a Cuban revolutionary who overthrew the Batista dictatorship in 1959. He nationalized industry, confiscated foreign property and established close ties to the Soviet Union.
