Howard Hughes

Rare flight flown commemorative cover, 9.75 x 4.5, carried by Hughes on his 1939 around the world flight bearing several stamps and postmarks from various stops on his three day trip. Signed on the front in fountain pen by Howard Hughes, co-pilot Harry Connor, radioman Dick Stoddard and flight engineer Edward Lund. In 1938, Howard Hughes set a new around-the-world record; at 3 days, 19 hours and 8 minutes. He left on July 10th in a Lockheed 14N "Super Electra." The aircraft, specially designed for Hughes, had a range of nearly 5,000 miles. Hughes stopped in Paris; Moscow, Omsk, Yakutsk (in the Soviet Union); Fairbanks, Alaska; and Minneapolis.In fine condition. COA John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
