Very interesting two part correspondence to her fan club president in Tennessee. The first is an ALS, four pages, 5.25 x 7.25, February 26, 1958. Letter addressed to 'Dear Members,' probably one of her fan club chapters. In part, 'I hope all of you will forgive me for not writing...but when you live on the road as much as I do, you welcome a little time at home and I have a lot to do when I get home. I guess by now all of you have heard my new record called 'Walking Dream' and b/w 'Stop The World.' The Decca people said it is selling very well, I just hope it hits some charts. I sang both of them while I was visiting with Mr. Godfrey...We sure had fun, because he always tries to pull something on me and I always come out with the dumbest ans. Another nice thing he did was show my four awards which I received from 'Cash Box,' 'Billboard,' 'Juke Box,' and Jamboree magazine...Well, my next show date is Roanoke, Va., then the Jim Reeves Show, in Nashville, then the Ozark Jubilee...then the Phillip Morris Show in Texas, and four days at The Flame in Minn, Minn...In April, I'll go back to be in the Godfrey Show again...I know we artists wouldn't be artists, if it wasn't wonderful friends like all of you.' The second part is a two page ALS, signed 'Patsy,' dated on the same day, written to Treva Miller. In part, 'Sorry to be so long at writing, I've been feeling so bad lately. I'm never feeling good anymore. I hate to think I'll have to be sick like this for the next eight months. I'm going to work up-till May, then I'm going to stop. I'll go back to the Godfrey Show in April. By the first of May, I'll be so big I'll have to stop working...And I wish you both the best of luck and happiness always. I hope you are as happy as I and Charlie.' Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, addressed in Cline's hand, with her full signature, 'Mrs. Patsy Cline Dick,' appearing in the return address. In fine condition. COA Roger Epperson and RRAuction COA.
