President Clinton thanks the famed 'Stand By Me' songwriter: "I wanted to let you know how much I treasure the saxophone you gave me at my Inaugural celebration last year"

TLS as president, one page, 6.75 x 8.75, White House letterhead, March 2, 1994. Letter to singer-songwriter Ben E. King, in full: "I wanted to let you know how much I treasure the saxophone you gave me at my Inaugural celebration last year. I even think some of your magic rubbed off on it! Your thoughtful gift will always be a wonderful reminder of a special time. I was honored to share the stage with such a talented musician.” In very fine condition. Accompanied by a photo of President Bill Clinton playing a saxophone along with musician Everett Harp at the Arkansas inaugural ball on January 20, 1993. Earlier in the day, Clinton was sworn in as the 42nd president of the United States.
