Partly-printed vellum DS as president, signed “Benj. Harrison,” one page, 15.75 x 19.75, January 7, 1892. President Harrison appoints John S. Murdock as a “Second Lieutenant of Infantry in the service of the United States.” Signed boldly at the conclusion by Benjamin Harrison and countersigned by Secretary of War Stephen B. Elkins. The dark blue War Office seal remains affixed to the lower left. Rolled and in fine condition, with some trivial damage to the seal edges.
