Eisenhower presents his portrait to a decorated Major General

Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Eisenhower at his desk, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen, "For Maj. Gen. Edgar C. Erickson, with best wishes and personal regard, Dwight D. Eisenhower." In fine condition, with a light crease to the bottom border, and a few small stains.

A career officer in the United States Army, Edgar C. Erickson (1896–1989) served on the Mexican border during the Pancho Villa Expedition, in France during World War I, and as liaison officer to the Chinese Nationalist Army during World War II. He served from 1953 to 1959 as Chief of the National Guard Bureau and retired as a U.S. Army Major General. Erickson's awards included the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and Bronze Star Medal.
