Spanish Catalan pianist and composer of classical music (born 1867) most well known for Goyescas and who died tragically in 1916 when his boat was torpedoed by a German U-Boat. Rare ALS in French, signed “E. Granados,” penned on the reverse of a 4.5 x 6 pneumatic postal envelope from Hotel Prima in Paris, [1914]. Untranslated handwritten letter addressed to musicologist Michel-Dimitri Calvocaressi (1877-1944), informing his correspondent that he will be sitting for a photograph the next day, which will take the whole morning, and changing their meeting to another day. He adds a note underlining his disappointment in missing the pleasure of meeting his friend. In very good to fine condition, with light soiling, small stains, and a crease to the upper left corner.
