Signed and inscribed on the colophon in black ink, "To: Hon. Donald S. Dawson, From: The President, White House, August 10, 1952," with Truman adding Dawson's initials, "D.S.D," in place of the edition number. Additionally, on the adjacent page below his color image, Truman has written: "To a real personnel officer, efficient, able, loyal!" In fine condition. General Dawson was the personnel officer in the White House during the Truman administration. He was also a campaign advance man for Truman during his 1948 presidential campaign.
